Justification for the Choice of the Sea Surface Mathematical Model in Solving the Problem of Radar for Environment Monitoring

Accuracy assessment of sea surface mathematical modeling are discussed. The linear model with Pierson-Moskowitz and Elfouhaily spectrum as well as nonlinear CWM model, which provides computational process stability and low computational complexity, are considered. Both wave ordinate dispersion and wave dispersion slope angle were used as criteria of model fidelity. It is shown that for short surfaces with dimensions close to radar resolution capabilities, the best accuracy provides by nonlinear CWM model.
